Gladys Shollei calls out Mama Ngina over Uhuru's upbringing

She said the head of state also attacks the leaders who disagree with him.

In Summary

•Shollei accused Mama Ngina of doublespeak, alleging the head of state was also wrong to attack those who disagree with him.

•"Instead of unveiling the Jubilee vision and decisions of the party, he went on an attacking spree," she said.

Gladys Boss Shollei has called out former First Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta for her recent remarks where she questioned the upbringing of politicians who insult President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, March 23, Shollei accused Mama Ngina of doublespeak, alleging the Head of State was also wrong to attack those who disagree with him.Shollei was referring to the campaigns in the run-up for the 2017 General Election, where she claims the President had called his former foe turned ally, ODM party leader Raila Odinga, all sorts of names. "She seemed to be defending the President and said that people who talk badly are not raised well. I think she needs to be reminded that President Uhuru Kenyatta recently was calling Raila Odinga all sorts of names," Shollei said.

"So to try and say that the President is the perfect person and well brought up a child that doesn't say anything negative, we just need to look at the way he behaved at the Jubilee meeting," she added.

To back her argument, she alleged that President Kenyatta had attacked his Deputy William Ruto at the said meeting where he was supposed to share the ideologies and vision of the Jubilee administration.

"Instead of unveiling the Jubilee vision and decisions of the party, he went on an attacking spree," she said.

"Remember in Sagana, he went and spoke in his mother tongue, yet he is supposed to be the symbol of unity. You as the President have an obligation to respect the seat that Kenyans honoured you in, it was actually a gossip corner in Sagana," she added.

On Tuesday, Mama Ngina Kenyatta appealed to the Mt Kenya region to back Raila for the presidency as directed by her son President Uhuru.

She said the President means well for the community and there is no way he can lead them into a ditch.

President Ruto fires CS Muturi in Cabinet reshuffle

Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has been fired as President William Ruto effected mini-changes in his Cabinet. Ruto has named Mbeere North Member of Parliament Geoffrey Ruku as the new Public Service CS nominee. The move by Ruto comes barely a day after the Head of State referred to Muturi as 'inco mpetent' when he served as the Attorney General. The CS has been a vocal critic of the government, even skipping Cabinet meetings.  In a recent interview, he revealed that he formally requested President Ruto to excuse him from attending Cabinet meetings until the issue of abductions and extrajudicial killings is prioritized for discussion. "Attending Cabinet meetings is mandatory unless one has permission from the President, which is what I sought," Muturi stated on Citizen TV. He insisted that his decision was not insubordination, as he had formally written to the Cabinet chair seeking exemption. For the first time, President Ruto on Tuesday openly displa...

Corruption Unveiled: Bribery Allegations Rock Mbogo Valley Tea Factory’s Logistics Management

In a shocking revelation, investigations have uncovered a web of corruption within the logistics management of Mbogo Valley Tea Factory, where reports suggest that officials are accepting bribes to allocate vital resources for tea collection. This malfeasance not only undermines the integrity of the factory's operations but also poses significant risks to the local farmers who depend on timely deliveries for their livelihoods. The logistics section, responsible for orchestrating the movement of tea from the fields to processing units, is reportedly entangled in a bribery scandal that hampers operational efficiency and inflates costs. Sources close to the matter have indicated that drivers are coerced into paying bribes to secure essential vehicles and routes for collecting the tea, leaving many farmers frustrated and disillusioned. “Farmers rely on the factory to ensure their tea reaches the market promptly,” stated Samuel , a local tea farmer and member of the Farmers' Coopera...
