Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jr says the Wiper Party will accept nothing less than the position of a running mate in the coalition talks between its party leader and Azimio la Umoja Presidential Candidate Raila Odinga.

"For Kalonzo [Musyoka] to have agreed to forfeit presidency for the third time it must count for something," Senator Kilonzo Jr said

.

Speaking in Wote, Makueni County, Saturday after a meeting with leaders and politicians from the region, he said that the Wiper Party had advised its leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, to go for the Deputy President's position, even as Kalonzo Musyoka and Raila Odinga continue with coalition negotiations.

"While we are still in the process of negotiations and holding talks, we have asked that Kalonzo Musyoka be given the position of Deputy President," he said.

Mutula Kilonzo Jr's sentiments follow a meeting of his party leader with President Uhuru Kenyatta at Kalonzo's Karen residence Friday evening.

President Ruto fires CS Muturi in Cabinet reshuffle

Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has been fired as President William Ruto effected mini-changes in his Cabinet. Ruto has named Mbeere North Member of Parliament Geoffrey Ruku as the new Public Service CS nominee. The move by Ruto comes barely a day after the Head of State referred to Muturi as 'inco mpetent' when he served as the Attorney General. The CS has been a vocal critic of the government, even skipping Cabinet meetings.  In a recent interview, he revealed that he formally requested President Ruto to excuse him from attending Cabinet meetings until the issue of abductions and extrajudicial killings is prioritized for discussion. "Attending Cabinet meetings is mandatory unless one has permission from the President, which is what I sought," Muturi stated on Citizen TV. He insisted that his decision was not insubordination, as he had formally written to the Cabinet chair seeking exemption. For the first time, President Ruto on Tuesday openly displa...

Corruption Unveiled: Bribery Allegations Rock Mbogo Valley Tea Factory’s Logistics Management

In a shocking revelation, investigations have uncovered a web of corruption within the logistics management of Mbogo Valley Tea Factory, where reports suggest that officials are accepting bribes to allocate vital resources for tea collection. This malfeasance not only undermines the integrity of the factory's operations but also poses significant risks to the local farmers who depend on timely deliveries for their livelihoods. The logistics section, responsible for orchestrating the movement of tea from the fields to processing units, is reportedly entangled in a bribery scandal that hampers operational efficiency and inflates costs. Sources close to the matter have indicated that drivers are coerced into paying bribes to secure essential vehicles and routes for collecting the tea, leaving many farmers frustrated and disillusioned. “Farmers rely on the factory to ensure their tea reaches the market promptly,” stated Samuel , a local tea farmer and member of the Farmers' Coopera...
